Managing is different from leading. It has more to do with hands-on, shoulder-to-shoulder, rhythmic work to keep operations moving forward. It is about building healthy, trusting relationships with staff and other managers. Skilled managers are crucial; generally Millennials don’t quit jobs, they quit managers.
