Of speaking, writing, reading, and listening – listening is by far the most difficult skill to develop in our current culture. Nothing is more powerful than listening in terms of its potential for growing healthy relationships and the personal growth of listener and speaker. Yet, we receive virtually no active, purposeful instruction in how to listen. What is being asked of us? What should we be able to do? What should we watch out for?
